ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday demanded Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal resign, accusing him of mishandling the Faizabad dharna.
PTI’s General Secretary Jahangir Khan Tareen said in statement that instead of resolving the crisis the interior minister continued making empty talks. “It is necessary he separate himself from ministry now”, Geo News quoted him as saying.
He further said due to the minister’s failure the situation reached to the point that the army had to be called in by the government.
The PTI leader the government silenced the media and then went on to ban social media, demanding the government withdraw such undemocratic decisions.
