Seattle

Today is #VictoryInEuropeDay, celebrating the Allied victory of #WWII. The Russian-American Cooperation Initiative organized an event and march to honor the day in #Seattle on Sunday. For me, it was an eye-opening experience. The U.S lost more than 400,000 lives during WWII, while the Soviet Union lost well over 26 million. Sergey Gladysh, an organizer of the event, said it was a celebration of those who contributed, fought and lost their lives during those years. “This is also very important today in light of worsening relations,” said Gladysh. “Because it reminds us of a time in history when the U.S. and Russia were allies and we were fighting a common evil together.” More on seattletimes.com. — #Russia #immortalregiment #VEDay #VictoryDay #wwiivet
